Drug prices in Georgia drop significantly

After the launch of imports of Georgian medicines from Turkey, the prices of medicines in the country have already decreased by 60-80%, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Tendency reports via Georgian media.
Georgia has already received the first batch of more than 30 types of drugs from Turkey on March 3, 2022. According to the Prime Minister, Georgian citizens can already notice the significant price drop.
Georgia is actively working on regulating the import of medicines from Turkey, in order to facilitate the process and replace all medicines in a timely manner, the prime minister added.
Meanwhile, the visit of the Georgian Minister of Health to Turkey is scheduled for this week, where meetings will take place with the Turkish Minister of Health and the head of the Regulatory Agency in order to simplify this process as much as possible, the vice – Minister of Health Ilia said Gudushauri.
Recently, the Georgian government signed a relevant decree related to the country’s initiative, allowing Turkey to significantly expand its presence in the country’s pharmaceutical market.
